World of Warcraft is about the end game, and we choose the life of a PvE raider…Did you?  I wanted to give you all a couple points that I see when we are doing our raids.  As a hunter, I am outside the core of the raid and seeing the interactions between folks so I would like to offer a couple points to better assist in our guild progression.

1) Make sure you have deadly boss mods installed, configured and ready to go.
- Drag your bars where they need to be
- Ensure your alerts are activated and will prompt you when boss events happen. (Stacks, spells etc)
- Turn on Game Volume!!!  You can’t hear the alerts unless you have game volume on.

2) Turn off all distractions so you can focus on your role in the raid.
- Music is great but you must turn off everything that takes your attention off the task at hand.
- Remove all mods that inhibit your use of bars, block your views or overwrite any boss alerts.  Focus on the boss, not other not needed items.

3) Be ready to go 15 minutes before a raid and waiting at ICC for your invite.
- Half of your future raiding success comes in how you prepare for the run as much as when you are actually in the raid.  Get your pots, food, feasts, reagents etc all ready to go and be in game mode from the start.  How you start is vital to how you want to end the night.

4) Wipe, rinse and repeat
- We are a progression guild, not a farm get you gear and be happy guild yet.  Anyone can get the first 4 bosses, maybe even a couple more…but when we are 10/12 in ICC..it will take a LOT of wiping, and cash to accomplish.
- Pots cost gold, food costs gold, repairs cost gold…So what?  You pay for your gear with your time, and gold.  That’s the trade for any real guild.  You will wipe, die and come back next week for more because you need to help your guildmates do the same.  When we all get more gear, it makes it easier for everyone to move forward.  If you need more gold etc….do work and make your gold during the other 120+ hours we arent raiding every week.

I wanted to make sure you all were going in with the right mindset because the emo we heard last night just needs to stop.  Pay attention, do your job and do work.

Folks…with the rising popularity of ChatRoulette thanks to videos like Merton and others like it, ChatRoulette is getting much more popular.  However, there have been many videos recently about how ChatRoulette is pretty much just a bunch of guys both clothed and not.  I figured it was time for someone to get in the thick of it and actually find out…

“What are your chances of seeing someone in ChatRoulette?”

That was my quest, and I set about going thru 1065 different chat members and charting the following characteristics: Girl, Boy, Tits, Jerking off, ? (other).  My basis was for every time I saw a person or persons on camera I would log if they were a girl or a boy.  If there was something notable like a girl showing her boobs or a guy jerking it, that was a seperate category since those are the two characteristics that are most talked about around the net.  Other or “?” was put in there because sometimes people are using a web cam emulator like ManyCam.com, picture, too dark, just something you cant define.  I didn’t count blank screens in the results as those are both inconclusive and not very helpful.  So if there were a group of people, I would count each person in the camera frame for my survey.  This was a critical factor as it turned out since the majority of girls would only be using ChatRoulette in groups of 2 or more.  I didn’t think to count the number of times I saw a webcam, just the number of people.  If this turns out to be helpful to people, I’ll wade through another round of ChatRoulette to get that info.

Where are the numbers!!…  Here you go.

As you can see the numbers are not looking too good for the majority of men.  The numbers show pretty conclusively that the main users of ChatRoulette! are men.  I used the classification of gender to describe the users and then activity as another descriptor.  The “No Idea” tag was attributed to Boy’s because the VAST majority of those users were advanced and using emulators.  Not making the call that ladies dont know computers, but they don’t go to that trouble like a guy would…just have the world turns sorry.  Also not to ruin your guys idea that you can log onto ChatRoulette and see boobs…because I did ONE time out of 1065 members I saw…and I think that one was an emulator too…but couldn’t really tell so just gave it a count in the tits column.

Below are graph’s showing you how to interpret the data above.    Guys….If you want to see tits or just girls on a webcam…Go to a site that features girls on a webcam.  If you are a guy that really enjoys looking at other guys, than ChatRoulette is your option for sure.  Also your chances of seeing a guy jerking it are pretty low compared to the number of just dudes on a webcam.  South Park might have gotten a little bit of it right, but statistically you’ll be seeing a clothed dude Many more times than one “hanging it out”.

What a problem to have eh?  You get done with college, are out on your own in the world with infinite choices to make…but which do you do?  That’s where I am right now in my life.  Since the last time I wrote, I married Makiko and now both of us are trying to get a little definition as to where we go from here.  I need to take some time to actually define what I’m doing thou, because I have more capability to do much more with myself than I’m currently doing.  Trouble with defining those type of issues as that being this is the public blogosphere, you can’t always write what you would want.  That’s a universally known limitation on personal style blogs like mine, so you’ll will just have to grant me a little leniency in that regard.  However, there are some very nice practical steps I’m taking that seem to be working well.

1.  The hell would I do all day if I had nobody telling me what to do?

I’m sure the first week would be filled with WoW and raiding the balls off of ICC thou…gamer ftw.  However, I can see that my day being filled with more delegation and supervising projects.  I really enjoyed the idea of bringing together the right people for a job, getting it done and moving onto something new.  Project management potentially but Product management would be equally as interesting.  Basically the difference between the two is that project management deals in a one time deal (one project move on), product management is taking a product/process and improving it or updating it (more ongoing).  That would be much more up my line of expertise.  I have always been a guy that will try to get into many different projects/situations because its more fun.  Stressful, but they don’t pay you for your calmness..just getting shit done.

2. What would I need to be paid to be happy?

Well that plus some.  Actually as of right now that’s hard to define since I am living in the bay area at the moment.  It’s so expensive to live here that I would need much more than I would if I lived in Oregon or someplace like that.  There is more definition involved around lifestyle thou.  I don’t really travel since it’s too expensive so I never grew a travel bug.  Good food is nice, but you can only do it so many times without getting bored.  I love nice cars like everyone, but my ideal sport car would be like a modified older Japanese car (RX-8, Miata, Impreza)..which isn’t too expensive and still gets nice gas mileage.  My tastes just haven’t been given a chance to experience what having more money than I could use feels like.  So who knows what is enough, but I sure know having access to all those things would be easier with more than less cash.  Way more definition required before I can even have a clue the ideal amount…but I know a lot is a good start
